 Pacific JewelOriginally known as Crown Princess, her distinctive curved profile, often referred to as 'dolphin-like' was designed by Renzo Piano. Her sister ship is Regal Princess, now Pacific Dawn. Both the Regal and Crown Princess were ordered by Sitmar Cruises and were in the early construction phases when Princess purchased their former competitor. In 2002, the ship was transferred to a new P&O Cruises brand aimed at the German market. Crown Princess class cruise ship, built by Fincantieri, Italy at a cost of $276.8 million. Commissioned in 1989, Pacific Jewel has a passenger capacity of 2,014 and 621 crew across her 11 decks. With a length of 245 meters and a total weight of 69,845 tons this ship has a maximum speed of 22 knots. |
